This is a beautiful and heavy master salt in one of the many Bull's Eye patterns. This one is called Collared Bull's Eye and is shown in Much More Early American Pattern Glass by Alice Metz page 28. This salt is 2-1/2" tall and 3-1/2" in diameter at the rim. The eight sided base is 2-1/2" in diameter. The inner well is 2" deep. There are several flakes on the well worn base and around the sides due to the fragile nature of flint glass. One flake on the base is thumb sized. There are also bubbles and straw marks in the glass. The glass still has a high pitched ring when tapped. Still a beautiful addition to any table setting.
