The Sawtooth pattern was made by many firms during the 1850's to the 1890's in flint glass. Some of the firms include: New England Glass Co; Bryce, Richards & Co. Bryce, Walker and Bryce Brothers; McKee & Brothers; Gillinder & Sons and The United States Glass Co. Some of the names used for this pattern were; Bryce's Diamond Point; Gillinder's Diamond; McKee's Diamond; Gillinder's No. 56; Cambridge Sawtooth; Miter Diamond; Pineapple, and Mitre. Spills were twisted pieces of paper that were used to go around the house to light the oil lamps in the evening. This could also have been used as a spoon holder. This spill holder is 5-1/4" tall and 3-1/2" in diameter at the rim. The well worn foot is 3" in diameter and has 2 small flakes around the rim. One on top at the rim and one on the bottom side of the rim. The glass rings like a church bell when tapped. There may be some points with small damage but there are no chips, flakes or cracks.
