This is a beautiful cake stand made by Campbell, Jones & Company of Pittsburgh, PA circa 1877. The pattern is known as Dewdrop With Star. It is also known as Dewdrop and Star; Dewdrop with Small Star; and as Star and Dewdrop. The pattern was designed by Jenkins Jones and patented under the design patent No.s 10,096 and 10,297 on July 17, 1877. It is 6" tall and 9-1/2" in diameter at the plate ring. There is a scalloped skirt hanging down that juts out just a little bit. The cupped foot is 4-7/8" in diameter. The "Star" part of the pattern come from the Dewdrop on the base coming up to points to make the star on the standard. I tried to show the Star in phots #3 and 4. There may be some bubbles and straw marks but there are no chips, flakes or cracks.
