This Early American Pressed Glass covered butter dish is in the Cupid and Venus pattern and was made by the Richards and Hartley Flint Glass Co. circa 1875 - 1884. It is also known as the Guardian Angel pattern. It stands 6 3/4" tall , 6 3/4" diameter. The top piece has some heat checks and chipping along the edges. One of the chips on the edge has a internal fracture about 1/4". The bottom piece has a nick on the edge and some tiny chips or roughness along the inner and outer edges.
