<td width="100%">
This is a vintage Bread Tray in the Diamond Grille pattern made by the Atterbury Glass Co. of Pittsburgh, PA circa 1870. It is very heavy, old milk glass and weighs almost 3 pounds. This platter is 2" deep at the handle ends, 12" long and 10" wide. The tray says "Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread" around the outer edges and has a wheat design on the underside edges of the folded rim and handles. On the inside is the grille pattern in the center and around the inner edge of the rim is the wheat design and scroll handles. Around the bottom foot rim there is some roughness. This is probably from the removal from the mold when made. There are no other chips, flakes or cracks on this beautiful bread plate that is well over 130 years old. This plate is shown in Yesterday's Milk Glass Today by Mary & Regis Ferson #166 pg. 42 and #360B illus pg.72 .
