Virginia Couse Leavitt writes, "My grandfather used my grandmother as a model a lot in the early days and it is very typical to show her in profile. She had wonderful coloring, particularly the light red hair, and many of their artist friends admired it". <BR> <BR>This painting is to be included in Virginia Couse Leavitt's forthcoming catalogue raisonné of the artist's works.
