E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial Production Test Casted Feet & ILM Crew T-Shirt
E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial Production Test Casted Feet & ILM Crew T-Shirt - Carlo Rambaldi is credited for creating the most beloved alien creature in film history: E.T. George Lucas' Industrial Light & Magic was assigned the task of creating the special effects, including the molding and casting of many of the latex E.T. costume pieces. The alien itself was created by many means, including remote control "dolls", and even a man wearing an E.T. suit. Actually the man was the famous dwarf actor Pat Bilon, who endured great hardship, including almost being burned alive when his E.T. suit caught on fire on the set! Hundreds of concepts were developed before the final look of E.T. was accepted. And many test castings of the actual E.T. pieces both for Bilon to wear, and for the remote control versions were made. These are a pair of actual E.T. latex feet cast from the original molds at ILM during the time of the production. They come from a large infamous ILM collection of props and memorabilia from Marin Country, California. The feet still have some of the casting mold edge sealing. The inside soles have been padded, so these may have been a test cast for one of Bilon's costumes. It includes the two protruding toes, and a socket where the opposable extended third toe would be attached. Also included from the collection is an original Crew ILM T-Shirt with a Magician pulling a "Roger Rabbit" style bunny out of his top hat. "Industrial Light & Magic, Marin Country, California" is printed on the back of this Oneita Brand Shirt (Size L). Comes with a Letter of Provenience from the collector. (Pair of casting feet are approx 11"x11").
