Featured in this lot is this framed photogravure titled "At the Old Well of Acoma," by artist Edward Sherriff Curtis born 1868 and died 1952, the photogravure is circa 1904. The photogravure features a scene of two Acoma Native women at the well filling up pottery with water they are both wearing similar garments with trade cloth wrapped around their heads and shows their legs wrapped with cloth. The frame is professionally crafted from hard wood with square added decoration to the corners of the frame. Edward Sherriff Curtis was an American photographer and ethnologist whose work focused on the American West and on Native American people. The condition of this of this framed photogravure is good with no obvious signs of damage and in good overall condition. The measurements of this framed photogravure are 25" x 26 5/8" and the visible art measures 13" x 15". Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector, Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman, which was both part museum and gallery. Identification#: E1104
