E. Goulcher West Chester Marked Half-Stock Percussion Fowling Piece
The barrel is marked "WEST CHESTER" on the top flat near the breech. Floral scroll engraved lock plate, trigger guard, breech plug and upper tang, with the engraving extending to the German silver trigger guard, buttplate, and forend tip. The lock plate is also engraved with a game bird and is marked "E-GOULCHER". The nicely figured walnut straight grip stock has a checkered wrist, smooth forearm, single barrel wedge, and flat buttplate.

Condition: Very good. The barrel shows signs of being cleaned at one time and has subsequently aged back to a mottled gray patina. The lock has a smooth dark patina with traces of original silvered out case colors on the hammer. The German silver mountings are all fine. The stock is also very good with some minor dings and scratches (more prevalent on the buttstock). The wrist checkering is crisp. The head of the hammer screw is partially missing, otherwise the action is fine.
