Dynaco PAT-5 solid-state stereo preamplifier and control center, a model introduced in 1974. The black pushbuttons identify the original PAT-5 configuration rather than the later Bi-FET version. Its brushed-metal faceplate carries source selection for two phono inputs, tuner, two tape inputs, and a spare input, along with volume, balance, bass, treble, A/B speaker selection, tape monitoring and dubbing controls, stereo/mono switching, an external processor loop, low and high filters, tone-control switching, a headphone jack, and power switch. The rear panel provides paired RCA connections for dual outputs, two tape loops, an external processor loop, spare and tuner sources, and two phono inputs. Additional connections include a grounding terminal, amplifier and speaker binding posts, and switched and unswitched AC outlets. This example is marked for 120V AC operation. Published model specifications list 12-watt power consumption and high-level frequency response from 10 Hz to 50 kHz. Published reference dimensions are approximately 13 1/2 x 4 1/4 x 11 3/4 in. (W x H x D).
