Two one-page TLSs, both on The White House letterhead, from 1954. The president and first lady send separate congratulatory messages to Ray Hare regarding his marriage. Ike’s letter reads: "Mrs. Eisenhower and I join in warm congratulations to you on the occasion of your marriage. We hope you will extend to your bride our very best wishes, and tell her that we look forward to meeting her in the near future.” Matted and framed to an overall size of 17.75 x 12.75. Light handing wear, otherwise overall fine condition. Ray M. Hare served in the Secret Service from 1949 to the end of 1955 as presidential security. He became Deputy Director of the White House from 1955 to 1975 serving six presidents. During this period he became close friends with President and Mrs. Eisenhower and also president Truman.
