Dwight Eisenhower typed letter signed as President-elect, dated 14 November 1952, on ''Office of Dwight D. Eisenhower'' letterhead, from Augusta, Georgia. Addressed to brother ''Ed'' Eisenhower, letter reads in part: ''…I have already fixed on the identity of my Attorney General. The only reason I don't give you his name here is because a letter like this can always possibly go astray. However, I do assure you that I share your concern regarding the importance of that position and the need for putting in it only the best man I can find. In view of your own unavailability (because of your name), I have selected the top man in the country! Incidentally, if you and any of your family would like to come to the Inauguration, I think you should instantly send a message to Tom Stephens…I do not know anything about the matter at all -- I will be lucky if I am there myself…My best score down here is an 87, but that was accomplished with the handicap of three double bogies toward the end when I was almost too tired to finish…'' Signed ''Ike''. One page letter, measuring 7'' x 10.25'', has folds from mailing. Near fine.
