TLS signed “Ike,” one page, 6 x 8, Allied Force Headquarters, Office of the Commander-in-Chief letterhead, December 30, 1943. Ike writes his elder brother, Kansas City banker Arthur Eisenhower. In part: “Thank you very much for your note of November 2. I am glad that you found the two naval officers entertaining. Possibly they gave you a picture of conditions here that was different from what your own imagination had painted.” In very good condition, with irregular blocks of uniform toning. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA. The same month he sent this message to his brother, Ike received word that President Franklin D. Roosevelt had appointed the general Supreme Allied Commander in Europe.
