TLS as president, one page, 6.75 x 8.75, White House letterhead, August 29, 1956. Letter to Montie Montana, in full: “Thank you for the telegram that you sent to me at the St. Francis Hotel the morning of my appearance at the Cow Palace. Mrs. Eisenhower and I admired greatly the San Mateo Sheriff’s Honor Guard that escorted us into the Convention Hall. Won’t you please convey our gratitude to each participating member of the Guard?” In fine condition, with slight toning to lower right corner. Montana was a rodeo trick rider, actor, stuntman and cowboy who, after years on television, would perform at elementary schools with his horse Rex. Accompanied by two unsigned images of Montana lassoing Eisenhower during the 1953 Inaugural Parade in Washington, D.C.
