TLS signed “Ike,” one page, 7 x 10.25, personal letterhead, February 24, 1964. Letter to Eisenhower’s former White House Chief of Staff Wilton B. Persons, in full: “Although I have been keeping close tabs on you through some of our friends it was good to get your first-hand report. A few weeks ago I had a little reunion with some of our Michigan associates—Art Summerfield, Dave Kendall, John Hannah and a number of others. Also, Bob Merriam and I had a brief chat one day last week on political matters. Mamie and I continue to enjoy this delightful climate and do not plan to return to the East until mid-May. My golf is suffering somewhat—my ‘tennis elbow’ keeps acting up. Any arrangement you make with Dr. Aeschbacher on your papers will be fine with me. Most of the Cabinet members have some material which they feel might be useful in the Abilene Library and eventually the collection there should be quite good. Mamie joins me in sending affectionate greetings to Allie and, of course, all the best to yourself.” In fine condition.
