Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 15.25 x 11.5, June 24, 1960. President Eisenhower appoints Raymond A. Hare as “a Foreign Service Officer of the Class of Career Ambassador of the United States of America.” The large paper seal is very crisp and fully intact. In fine condition, with a central vertical storage fold and toning to top edge. Countersignature of Secretary of State Christian Herter appears to be autopen. Throughout his career, Hare served as ambassador to various Middle Eastern countries as well as president of the Middle East Institute.
