Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 23 x 19, January 21, 1954. Eisenhower appoints Robert Montgomery of New York to be a “Special Consultant to the President of the United States of America.” Signed at the conclusion by Eisenhower and countersigned by acting Secretary of State Walter Smith. In fine condition. The large paper seal is crisp and intact. Under Montgomery's careful attention, Ike became one of the most relaxed and confident speakers, especially during television debates.
