TLS signed "Ike," one page, 5.25 x 7, Columbia University letterhead, October 21, 1950. Letter to Mr. C. J. Schoo, in full: "My thanks to you and Grace for your good wishes on my birthday. I survived the occasion and do not feel a bit older." Archivally matted and framed with a portrait and caption to an overall size of 13.75 x 11. In fine condition, with a few small faint pinks stains. Eisenhower had just celebrated his 60th birthday on October 14, and would soon take a prolonged leave of absence from Columbia beginning in December 1950 to assume responsibilities as the first supreme commander of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
