Official bronze inaugural medal from 1953 designed by Walker Hancock and struck by the Medallic Art Co., used as the base of a 6? diameter silver bowl. The face features a profile portrait of Eisenhower in relief, and the reverse features a presidential eagle with raised text: "Inaugurated President of the United States of America, January 20, 1953." Also includes a bold ink signature, "Dwight D. Eisenhower," on an off-white 4 x 2.5 slip clipped from the close of a letter. In very good to fine condition, with tarnishing to the silver bowl. Includes some associated literature from the Medallic Art Co. about their inaugural medals.
