Dutch Contract Model 1906 Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol, #2564, 9mm, 4'' barrel, blue finish with straw small parts, checkered walnut grips, with unmarked wood based nickel-plated magazine. Crown-''W'' for Queen Wilhelmina, thumb safety marked ''Rust'', extractor marked ''Geladen'', top of barrel marked 1940, Dutch brass sideplate marked ''VbGIII/60''. Considered quite scarce with less than 4,200 produced, all of which went to the Dutch East Indies. Many are shown as captured weapons in photographs with Japanese soldiers. Condition is excellent as partially restored, and retaining approx. 98% lightly thinning rust blue; straw parts have thinned to 97%. Grip safety shows some pitting beneath grip line. Grips show minor re-tracing. All visible matching small parts. Back of frame marked ''15/779''. Action is good and crisp, bore is bright. Est.: $2,500-$4,000. (C&R)
