The piece is believed to be an early original print by the famed Edward S. Curtis. The print is of the Kalispel young woman, Skohlpa. She is garbed in a dress ornamented with shells that imitate elk-tusks. Thebraids of hair are wound with strips of otter fur, and a weasel skin dangles from each. The bands of white on the hair are effected with white clay. The frame measures 12.75"x14.75" and the print is 3.5"x4.5"
