Complete issue of Dunlap's American Daily Advertiser from September 8, 1792, printed by John Dunlap, Philadelphia, four pages, 12.25 x 19.75, featuring various ads and notices for sales, auctions, ships, and employment opportunities. One advertisement is for Mathew Carey's proposal for "Publishing by Subscription, An American Edition of Guthrie's Geography Improved," and a real estate ad offers "A Lot of Ground…situate near to where the Building is now erecting for the Residence of the President of the United States, and is in an improving part of the city." In fine condition, with light soiling and some chipping to edges. John Dunlap began the publication of the weekly Pennsylvania Packet in 1771, and in 1784 it became the first successful daily newspaper in America; its name was changed to Dunlap's American Daily Advertiser in 1791. Dunlap is also known as the publisher of the first copies of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
