Duke of Wellington Hand Written Letter 1845
This letter was written on behalf of the Duke of Wellington. * It reads: "Duke of Wellington presents his compliments to W. Leboucher. The Duke regrets that his official duties and engagements render it necessary for him to give his attendance in the house of Parl. of which he is a member on every day in which that house sits for the discussion of public business." It is hand dated London, April 11, 1845. The envelope is addressed to W. Leboucher. The stationery is folded to 7 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches. There is some tears at the center creases. The envelope has a one penny stamp, postmarked, with black wax seal on the back. * This is a splendid letter from one of the leading military and political figures of the 19th century.
