Duke Ellington -- You Turned the Tables On Me
Duke Ellington "You Turned the Tables On Me" Hand-Written Score (undated). Louis Alter and Sidney D. Mitchell's "You Turned the Tables on Me" was introduced in the musical film Sing, Baby, Sing in 1936. While perhaps the most popular recording was done by Helen Ward with the Benny Goodman orchestra, the song has that extra-special swing in this Duke Ellington arrangement titled "Turn Table." This chart is written on both the front and back of one piece of score paper. Most of Duke Ellington's scores reside in the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C., but here's a chance for the true-blue Ellington fan to acquire his own original chart. This lot also includes a letter of provenance from J. Bradley Shigeta which reads, "This letter is to confirm that all of the Duke Ellington manuscripts/scores/miscellaneous sketches in my possession were given to me by Mercer Ellington in 1995 as a personal gift for my assistance with the Duke Ellington Orchestra."

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
