Dueling rapier with fancy etched blade and mounts, blade is marked Coulaux, Klingenthal, with H. Faure, Le Page, Paris, agent’s marking. The rapier measures 43” overall with 37” blade, triangular shaped, nicely made and not for practice. The blade is nicely etched, matching to the cup and pommel. The blade shows most of its original polish, just some slight staining. The hilt and pommel were black japanned finish and show a brown patina with high quality wire wrapped and turned grip. An unusually high quality sword for a gentleman to use in a serious duel. From the William R. Orbello Collection. Est: $700 - $1,400
