Duck River Sword Prehistoric Nativ Rare Cermonial Knife
This is a Duck River sword, which we believe to be an original, found in the Duck River in Tennessee in the late 1800's. It was made by the early Mississippians around 1300-450 B.P. This sword was used in their ceremonial Eagle dances, as depicted on shell gorgets from this period. This example is 11 1/4 inches long. It is carved of dover flint, in a lanceolate shape with double pointed blade. Its condition is excellent. * * * This Duck River sword is a legendary piece of prehistoric North American cermonial stonework.
