Dublin, TX - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 629 The Dublin NB Ch. # 4865
This note from our 2001 Texas Collection Sale is quite attractive with visible signatures of E.W. and (J.G.) Harris. There are a couple of pinholes and the bottom edge is slightly frayed. This is one of 4 Large documented by Kelly, and one of those is impounded in the Philpott/Moody Foundation. The Dublin NB was chartered in 1893 and it had only $1,800 in large size notes outstanding. The opportunity to buy this note is much rarer than the bank itself. This cataloger has learned that Dublin, Texas is the last known bastion where Dr. Pepper can be had with pure cane sugar. Fine+.
