Dressing Room For The Stars
This lot is comprised of a mirrored dressing room that was salvaged from a 1929 mansion in Providence, RI. The main component is a wall that measures 8'10" wide and 8'9" high and which is made of a nickel plated brass frame that holds 8 separate hinged doors, all with mirrored fronts. Five cupboards and a walk-in closet are meant to be built behind this wall. All of these doors fit perfectly with their original hinges and the locks turn with small, mercury glass doorknobs. This unit was designed and fabricated by a master craftsman and it is unlikely that a duplicate unit will ever be found. In addition to the mirrored wall this room contains two pairs of French doors, one set of which is 7' x 54" and the other set measuring 7' x 42". There is a third, single door that measures 7' x 32", and each door is faced with the same mirror panels, set in nickel frames and embellished with cast rosettes, as are found on the main wall. This entire unit is presently set at the Antique and Artisans Center in Stamford, CT. Call 800-508-0022 for more information.
