This hand painted Dresden lace porcelain lady holding a mirror figurine is marked on the bottom with the impressed #604 and Crossed Swords which according to the Kovels New Dictionary of Marks on Pottery & Porcelain: States Porcelain Manufactory Veb/Meissen, Saxony, Germany (E.Germany) Porcelain 1963 +. Dressed in a beautiful pink lace dress with white lace trim and bodice, she has yellow flowers delicately arrayed and green leaves in-between. This is the care they took in making these figurines the porcelain "slip" or "dress" is poured into hand crafted molds and completely air dried before it is baked. Real cotton lace impregnated with porcelain clay is used to dress the figurine with the characteristic ruffles. The figurines are then glazed and baked. The lace burns away leaving the delicate pattern in porcelain. They are then hand painted and baked a final time. In very good condition, she does have some flaws in her lace which I have tried to show in my pictures and does not detract from the beauty of this piece and she measures 5 inches tall, 3 3/4 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches deep. A great addition to any Porcelain Doll or Dresden Collection.
