Early illustrations by Dr. Seuss in a first edition, first printing of ''Mystery Puzzles'' by Austin Ripley. Frederick A. Stokes: New York: 1937. With seven black & white illustrations by Dr. Seuss depicting characters in humorous crime-ridden situations. It was later in 1937 that Dr. Seuss published his first book, ''And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street.'' Illustrations are in fine condition. Book, measuring 5.5'' x 8.25'', is in very good condition with pinholes and stains on front boards. One of the rarest Dr. Seuss books.
