Dr. Seuss limited edition serigraph, ''Cat from the Wrong Side of the Tracks.'' The original painting, from a 1960's series of ''Secret Art,'' was created for Theodor Geisel's own personal enjoyment. The sly adult images are a definite departure from the innocent art for which Seuss is known. These paintings were rarely, if ever, exhibited during his lifetime. The cigarette-smoking cat, playing pool in a pool hall, with a naked cat on his tie demonstrates Seuss' wry adult humor. This limited edition 24'' x 44'' serigraph, numbered 669/850, bears the printed signature of Dr. Seuss. It is mounted to a board backing from a previous framing. Cardboard residue to verso. Overall in fine condition.
