An emphatic typed letter signed by Dr. Seuss, regarding not being photographed. He writes upon his personal stationery to his friend Diddo Clark; dated 28 June 1973, letter reads in full: ''Dear Diddo: It was good seeing you the other day. But, honest to God, your next appearance [underscored] can't have anything to do with taking photographs. During the two-and-a-half weeks we've been back in this country, [underscored] six solid days have been spent with photographers and interviewers from Hollywood, New York, and a mess of publications, all of whom promised it would be quick and painless. It never was. It never is. I wish you well in your photography career. But, in self defense, I suggest you shoot some rocks or some tree stumps or some pizza remnants, all of which give out more vital cosmic effusions than I, personally, am able to muster and exude. In the meantime, til we meet again... without cameras... Happy kyaking [sic] And we're glad your sister won, [signed] Ted''. 1pp. with original envelope measures 7'' x 10.25''. Ink notation to verso and creasing, else near fine.
