Inscribed by the author to Dr. John Wilkison on preliminary blank. Nick to spine head; near fine. Akers's outstanding reference work on U.S. Mint issue gold pattern coins, based largely on the Dr. Wilkison collection. The inscription reads: "Best wishes to my good friend Dr. John Wilkison. I think that your gold pattern collection is one of the most significant collections in the history of numismatics.
