Doulton Lambeth Stoneware Bookend, Foozled
Foozled glazed stoneware bookend modeled by J. B. Harding. The term foozle means to botch or bungle, particularly in golf, where it refers to a badly executed shot. This bookend humorously captures a frustrated golfer who has sliced his shot so badly that he cannot even find his ball. Designed as part of a pair with the Fed Up bookend. This piece is a fantastic example of Royal Doulton’s early craftsmanship and storytelling through ceramic art. Impressed Doulton Lambeth to bottom base. Artist monogram.
