American pilot (1907–1995) best remembered for a 1938 navigational “error” (now widely believed to have been a purposeful protest against government red tape) that landed him in Dublin instead of his stated destination of California. Vintage ink signature, “Douglas Corrigan, 5-9-41,” on an off-white album page. Matted with a photo of Corrigan posing alongside his plane to an overall size of 12 x 13. In fine condition, with scattered mild toning.
