Early vintage matte-finish 9 x 13.25 full-length photo of MacArthur in full uniform, and bearing an embossed Signal Corps seal at the lower right corner, signed in the lower border in fountain pen, “With cordial regard, Douglas MacArthur, Jan. 5, 1932.” In very good condition, with horizontal crease through top portion of image, as well as scattered creases and soiling to borders, and a few tears to bottom edge, one through last digit of date. Uncommon in photos of this size and early date. Later that same year, under orders of Herbert Hoover and MacArthur evicted veterans protesting in Washington, D.C., over promised wartime bonuses from eight years earlier.
