Two TLSs, one signed "Douglas Fairbanks," and the other, "Mary Pickford Rogers," both one page, personal letterhead. The Fairbanks letter, June 29, 1927, addressed to Harrison Lewis of the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, in part: "I do not know how effective I would be as a member of the Advisory Board, as I am a very poor adviser. As a matter of fact, the demands on my time are so many that I believe my civic pride can best be expressed by means of my pocket book." The Pickford letter, January 21, 1953, addressed to Gene Gunther of the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, in part: "I am truly disappointed to miss the Chamber of Commerce Banquet. I had hoped to be here but, as it has turned out, both Mr. Rogers and I will be away." In overall fine condition.
