Double-barrel centerfire antique blackpowder pistol, nicely engraved with ivory grips, and original sword blade attached. Silver plated, engraved frame, serial #2 beneath lever release. No maker’s name, probably Spanish or Belgian manufacture, approx. 1870’s to 80’s. The pistol is approx. .44 caliber or 11mm, centerfire, with full rifled barrels that are 6”. The pistol portion of the oddity is 11”, the pistol measures 21-7/8” from the tip of the blade to the end of the butt. The metal surfaces show approx. 20-40% of an old original silver plate which has drifted and the balance is going to a natural brown metal. The barrels are nicely fluted, the frame is well engraved, and there is a silver band at the breech. The ivory grips are good to very good and original to the period and show some cracks and normal aging and are at least good to very good. The action is working, the blade is actually made as part of the rib to the barrel and not a replacement. An original oddity without a doubt. From the Robert Petersen Collection. Est: $1,250 - $2,500
