Double-action percussion European oddity revolver signed “A. Brecht Vorm A. Burckhardt in Weimar” on barrel in nicely cut block letter. The same address is repeated in block letters on the cylinder. The pistol measures approx. 13” overall with 6-1/8” octagon barrel of medium weight, approx. .30 caliber or 7.65mm. 6-shot cylinder, ramrod mounted directly beneath barrel. The cylinder is revolved and cocked by pushing the front trigger forward and fired by pulling the rear trigger. The pistol remains in good condition showing strong traces of blue within a brown patina within the cylinder and frame. The frame and cylinder appear to be case hardened, now gone to grayish brown. There are some nicks on edges of the barrel on left side, the grips are nicely carved and checkered in typical Germanic style. The grips are very good plus with most of their original varnish, a few scratches, mars, normal aging. The action is working well. The pistol is complete, including sights. A very interesting and rarely encountered percussion revolver in this country. The cylinder shows a couple of casting flaws in the metal that are minor. From the Robert Petersen Collection. Est: $1,500 - $3,000
