DS, eighteen pages, 8.5 x 11, December 12, 1962. Contract between Twentieth Century Fox and Doris Day in which the latter agrees to “portray the role of ‘Ellen’ in the photoplay now entitled ‘Something’s Got to Give.’” Signed on the last page in blue ballpoint by Day, and countersigned by Richard D. Zanuck. Includes the applicable Exhibit A packet. In fine condition, with expected document wear. The decision to continue filming Something’s Got to Give in the wake of Marilyn Monroe’s death resulted in a new cast and director—Day replacing Monroe, James Garner replacing Dean Martin, and Michael Gordon replacing George Cukor—as well as a new title, Move Over, Darling.
