Doolittles Raiders. Another group of 1
Doolittle's Raiders. Another group of 13 of Doolittle's pilots, writing their thoughts of the experience: 13 A.Ls.S., one signed photo, one book prospectus, and one summary (2 pp.) by Lt. Col. Robert L. Hite, co-pilot of plane no. 16, autographed twice. Some of this group were captured by the Japanese and held for nearly three years. Bombardier Jacob De Shazer, a prisoner-of-war, inspired Mitsuo Fuchida, the Japanese pilot who led the attack on Pearl Harbor, to accept Jesus Christ as his personal savior. A copy of this document, in Japanese, signed by Fuchida, in this lot. Descriptions of bailing out from one plane, another plane crash-landing with all on board, the actual bombing, and more. William M. Bower affirms "absolute intensity and conviction by our Boss Gen. Doolittle to the fact that we would succeed." Very fine. Request detailed 3 pp. list.
