<Our item number 140963><B>[Doolittle, Amos] Colonial Silver Spoon.</B> Made by Connecticut engraver & patriot Amos Doolittle. A delicate, Colonial American silver spoon measuring 4¾ inches in length and clearly marked on the back, &#34;A.D&#34; in an inset rectangle. Amos Doolittle was a silversmith active in New Haven, Connecticut in the late 1700s, but he is better known as an engraver, who produced some of the earliest prints of the Revolutionary War, based in some cases on his own experiences in the Connecticut Militia.
