Donna Nelson?s original creative outlet was underwater photography. She lectured and showed her work in Dallas, Texas while publishing articles and photo essays for Texas Natural History Magazine. As a professional photographer, she traveled to the Himalayas and developed a series of educational lectures on the cultures of the Himalayas. She was a speaker for the Distinguished Lecture Series for the Dallas Council on World Affairs. Donna started oil painting in 1990 when she moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico.
