Dong Wensheng (b. 1970), Giclée, Chinese Garden No. 8, 2005
Dong Wensheng creates with muted colors and shades mysterious and atmospheric pictorial worlds. In his conceptual photography he makes use of elements from nature and architecture of Chinese gardens and other landscapes as stage settings to integrate objects that surprise the observer. Here it is a bathing woman, who has turned her back towards the viewer, bending forward. Eminent is a formalist approach in his works. The ‘Chinese Garden’ series is probably his most well-known work series. This giclée print from the year 2005 is the print number 6 from a limited edition of 10 prints in total.

The work is dated ‘2005’ and signed lower right in pencil, as well as numbered ‘6/10’ and titled in Chinese and with ‘8’ lower left in pencil. The sheet bears the embossed stamp by the artist.
