Taken on a freezing cold afternoon in February 1963, this portrait of Bob Dylan and his then-girlfriend Suze Rotolo was one of the session photographs taken by Don Hunstein for the cover of Dylan’s second album “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan.” Built of little details, this iconic mage is evocative of the early sixties in New York. The components of the image come together beautifully as Dylan and Suze cling to each other, with Dylan in the center of the composition. The vanishing point disappears into the distance behind them as the street is lined with cars and rooftops, heightening the sense of perspective.
