An oval flan could produce a larger or smaller number than a median reckoning which, if photographed, would quickly tell the prospective buyer of its irregularity.
While metal micrometers with fancy read-out dials are commonly sold in the numismatic marketplace, don't use them. The metal of a coin should never touch another metal. A plastic micrometer is excellent and just as accurate (as well as being less expensive), as are the clear plastic measuring devices made for philatelists. Look for a perforation gauge which includes a millimeter ruler on the side; these are usually manufactured with high precision.
Estimated Va lue $900 - 1,350.
Ex Antiqua XIII, January 2006, lot 96.

Our item number 137963
<IMAGES>

</IMAGES>
