Dominion of Canada, 1917 $1000 1st World War Bond #V027125E. Considered to be extremely rare and possibly unique. Initially up for offer in 2006, Rumor has it that The Bank of Canada had shown interest in acquiring the piece through donation as they do not have an example in their own museum. The Bond features portraits of King George V & Queen Mary, the same images used on the 1911 $500 & $1000 issues. A very intriguing item, which as of 2006 was still redeemable for the full amount of issue through the Bank of Canada. In 2006 the note was to go up for offer with a set reserve of $2500, the actual sale price is untraceable. Should be viewed and should bring in considerably more considering its uniqueness. Possibly the last time it will be up for offer so don't miss this occasion.
