&#40;1844-1926&#41; First Governor of the Territory of Hawaii. Partly-printed Document Signed as Governor, 3pp, 16x10½&#34;, South Kona, Hawaii, 25 April 1903. Fine. Countersigned by Edward Boyd, Commissioner of Public Lands. Being Land Patent No. 4675, granting to W.C. Achi 320 acres at Honomalino, in return for one dollar and a deed for his land at Kapalama, Honolulu, &#34;<I>required for the widening of King Street</I>….&#34; A map on pages 2 and 3 shows the land involved. Honomalino is one of Hawaii&#39;s most famous and most beautiful beaches. Located in the South Kona district of the Big Island, it was the site of a major battle in the precontact period; to this day, the scattered bones of the slain warriors can be viewed sticking up through the sand during low tides. It is accessible only by 4-wheel drive or canoe.
