Shoup General Merchandise ,for Harkness & Co. Bank,(pink) Salmon, Id.,RN-G1, dated 1882. 3) Warrant, Alturas County, I.T.,from Rocky Bar dated 1875. Note on "Salmon City," Got its start as a Ferry across the Salmon River, in order to get to the gold fields, of Leesburg 16 miles west. The town was laid out by Col. Shoup. These checks are from his store, and signed by him. Note on "Rocky Bar," Founded in 1863, within 2 years it became the main settlement in the area. At its peak it had a pop. of over 2,500 & Served as County Seat from 1864-1882. The town was destroyed by fire in 1892. Located 62 miles northwest of Mountain Home, Id.City: County: State: ID
