The accompanying factory letter verifies the rifle configuration, 50/110 caliber, round barrel, plain trigger, 1/2 magazine, shotgun butt, that it was received in the warehouse on December 12, 1892 and shipped out of the warehouse to order number 9001 on December 14, 1892.

Excellent. The rifle retains 95% plus of the original blue showing some very minor muzzle wear and several insignificant scratches on the right side. The remaining parts retain 90% original case colors with a smooth gray/silver gray patina on the balance. The buttplate has a smooth brownish patina. The bolt retains nearly all of the high polish blue finish and the blue on the loading gate has faded to a plum patina. The stock and forearm are excellent with nearly all of the original oil finish with a repair on the upper left wrist and overall a few minor dents and dings. All of the markings are crisp. This is an excellent example of a Winchester Model 1886 Sporting Rifle chambered for the .50-110 Express Cartridge with very desirable casehardened receiver.
